MAYAN 2012

The Mayans knew that the earth would be in direct alignment with the black hole of the Milky Way and the sun by 2012. The shock of this might shift the poles completely around destroying everything. It has happened before. Yet life on the equator had already gone crazy. He could feel the pull downward somehow with a tension between the two poles. Walking the short strip to his office in the morning he felt as if he wanted to sink into the dark earth as an aspect of a doomed triangle. The fire ants would eat him before plummeting all the way to the core What did he owe her? Nothing really. He could just disappear into this labyrinth. What did she owe him? To escape. There was always a type of hell to pay between the poles of having and wanting. Perhaps this was the pull of the two poles on earth: needing and desiring. This spot in the jungle was almost exactly opposite on the globe from where he had started. Now he thought of this man, this thing that was out to get him-probably not sparing him.

God dwells in the particulars said Mies Van Der Rohe so he would look there. Why not? There had to be something rewarding about these secular prayers. He could no more believe in god as he could in the existence of two poles pulling him from the north a south. He knew they were there directly on the equator: the sun shot up at seven in the morning and when down at five after seven like a fiery airplane. Darkness and the heat of the last day would be on them and he would always have sweat on the back of his head. ‘Abundance’ said the I ching many times. Where is it? The two poles are abundantly pulling me and I wish to add more non-symmetry into my life again. I like the isosceles triangle.

Bleeding words could become a compulsive act like everything else. Killed by the Scythians on a treeless plain was a good dose of oblivion. Freezing to death in a cornered room or a big city was another. The hope for vectors out brought these people to the excesses of words. They would not go silently. This new medium made everyone a bard and a storyteller.
