Traditional Korean-style house

We went to 'Han-ok maeul' to see korean traditional house and life style.

Slippers are not fittable for korean traditional house,

because koreans of old times didn't wear shoes indoors.

It is a controdictory mixture of old & new!

This is 'Sod-dae솟대' that is standing on the roof of traditional house.

It's a pole signifying prayer for a good harvest.

It shows the old korean folk belief.

What do you think about this funny face made of traditional tile?

It's very cute and it makes me smile.

It shows the possibility that restoration of tradition can be done in new way.
